GSECC, a social emotional childcare center located in Greenwood/North Seattle, is an employee-owned cooperative. This business model provides employees with the opportunity to become partial owners and collectively manage the company. While a director oversees daily operations, an elected board, comprising employees from all levels, votes on policies, company changes, pay scales, and other significant matters.
We are hiring a Full-time support staff teacher to start as soon as possible. While we're eager to fill this role, we're prioritizing finding the right fit. The position requires availability Monday through Friday from 830-430 PM. Shift priority is determined by seniority and maybe adjusted 30 minutes in either direction depending on needs of the center. Responsibilities include providing breaks and lunch coverage for multiple classrooms and covering for teacher planning time or days off, Specifically with our infant, babies and waddlers classrooms. Must be comfortable and familiar with children 2m - 2years old. You will be primarily providing coverage in classrooms for this age group.
Seeking an experienced childcare provider with at least one year of experience in a childcare center setting. Excellent time management skills and the ability to advocate for personal needs are essential. The ideal candidate will feel comfortable reminding staff to return on time from breaks and lunches. Opportunities for advancement to assistant or lead positions may be available in Fall 2025.
Our childcare program is inclusive, so we require teachers to work with all children, regardless of ability, and manage age-appropriate behaviors within a social-emotional curriculum and behavior management framework. We expect teachers to maintain a positive attitude and energy, as this will influence the classroom environment. We strive to support our staff in managing challenging behaviors.
To support our curriculum focus on social emotional learning and development, all staff will be trained in conscious discipline and trauma informed care. We will offer multiple group and online trainings, as well as in-classroom training and support.
Our center values and supports its staff. Our director has 20 years of experience and leads with compassion and empathy. We believe in a work life balance. Full time staff will work an 8 hour shift with a half hour paid lunch.
High expectations are set for our staff and the quality of care they provide our children. Individual experiences and abilities are considered when working with staff to help them reach their full potential. This may include encouraging self-care and having difficult conversations to promote growth and development as a teacher. We do require all staff to have a growth mindset and willing to accept feedback in a professional manner.

High School Diploma and minimum working towards ECE education required for Lead Teachers.
CPR Certification

Be familiar with state licensing requirements regarding training and certification.
