Job Overview
As a Surgical Assistant, you’ll play a crucial role in supporting our surgical team, ensuring smooth procedures and the highest standards of patient care. This position is full-time based on practice needs.
Key Responsibilities

Monitor and assist sedated patients through surgery and recovery

Prepare, sterilize, and maintain all surgical instruments and operatories before, during, and after procedures

Escort patients to treatment areas; reassure and prep them pre-op
-
Take intraoral X-rays and confirm medical history as requested

Assist Dr. Baldwin with surgical procedures and patient care execution

Accurately document procedure details and patient data

Provide post-procedure education and care instructions

Collaborate with the scheduling team to optimize operative schedules

Restock supplies, maintain sterilization logs, notify lead of low inventory, and support onboarding of new staff
- Maintain an exceptional professional demeanor and strong attendance record
Qualifications

Current CPR certification required; state surgical licensing (e.g., RDA, Surgical Tech, DAANCE) preferred

Experience in oral/maxillofacial surgery is a strong plus

Ability to anticipate team needs and perform in a fast-paced

Comfortable using electronic health records and imaging systems

Must be insurable under practice liability coverage
