Midwest Oral Surgery & Center for Facial Cosmetics, PC
Position: Dental Assistant ( Surgical Tech , Medical assistants and EMT's are welcome to apply - on the job training will be provided) .
Reports To: Office Manager and Clinical Coordinator
Position Summary: Assist the doctor by being responsible for various dental assisting duties, maintains equipment and instruments following OSHA requirements, and treats each patient with respect and professionalism. Position is 4 days a week with traveling to Coldwater Michigan at least once a week. Milage reimbursement or traveling with the doctor with travel time pay are available.
Primary Duties:
- Clean and sterilize instruments
- Change traps monthly
- Prepare and set-up trays
- Assists doctor during procedures
- Administer & process x-rays
- Pt. instructions following treatment
- Check, switch, & order gas tanks
- Maintain lab & operating work areas
- Maintain emergency box supplies
- Check AED, batteries, laryngoscope
- Clean Operatories
- Dry Test Strips
- Direct & prepare patients for surgery
- Review Medical history w/patient
Secondary Duties:
- Take out trash
- Maintain current x-ray certification
- Check pt. flow from front desk
- Attend required office meetings
- Biological steam test
- Fire Extinguisher check monthly
- Draw up/Count medications
- Gauze Packs/water syringes
- Laundering uniforms and linen Impressions
- Schedule doctor lunches
- Biohazard
Physical Requirements:
- Able to stand for long hours

Skills: Ability to operate and maintain: x-ray machine, panorex, ultrasonic, autoclave, processor, oxygen & nitrous oxide, blood pressure & pulse meter, suction, hand pieces dry heat sterilization, dental, implant materials and equipment. CPR, OSHA, radiology, dental assistant certification
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour
Expected hours: 32 – 34 per week
