Job Summary
The Surgical Coordinator plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of surgical procedures within a healthcare facility. This position is responsible for coordinating all aspects of surgical scheduling, patient communication, and administrative support. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of medical records management and have experience with relevant software systems. This role requires excellent organizational skills and the ability to work collaboratively with medical staff to provide exceptional patient care.
Duties
- Coordinate surgical schedules, ensuring timely and efficient use of operating rooms.
- Communicate with patients regarding pre-operative instructions, care plans, and follow-up appointments.
- Maintain accurate medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Utilize electronic health record systems for documentation and scheduling.
- Assist in the preparation of surgical charts and ensure all necessary documentation is complete prior to surgery.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Provide administrative support, including managing office tasks related to surgical operations.
- Ensure that all medical coding is accurate, including familiarity with ICD-9 codes.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 - $28.00 per hour
