Greater Regional has an opportunity for a full time Certified Surgical Tech. The surgical tech will scrub for surgical cases in the instrument and assist roles with a case mix of general, orthopedics, OB/GYN, ENT, GI endoscopy, podiatry, urology, cataracts and more. Duties will also include reprocessing instruments, restocking supplies, ordering supplies and equipment maintenance activities. The candidate must be dependable and ready to work in a fast paced environment, with strong communication and critical thinking skills. A 20 to 30 minute on call response time is required. Schedule for this role will be day shift Monday through Friday with evening, weekend, and holiday call.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Sets up tables, instruments, and supplies required for specific operations.
- Assists in preparation and draping of patient and operative area.
- Prepares and passes instruments, sutures, sponges, and supplies needed in the operative procedure and maintains a correct count of instruments, needles, sponges & sharps.
- Assists in the maintenance and care of specimens
- Decontaminates all equipment, instruments, and supplies.
- Cleans tables, room, and changes linen.
- Cleans and stocks storage shelves as required.
- Assists with various surgical and table equipment, positioning patients and application of synthetic casts and dressings.
- Prepares and maintains the sterile field for the surgical procedure.
- Assist in Recovery Room as assigned under the supervision of an RN.
- Knowledgeable about care and treatments of life spectrum patients (neonate to geriatric) as it pertains to the practice of ORT.
- Responsible for the reprocessing of sterile supplies/equipment.
- Maintain/order supplies and equipment for all surgical procedures.
- Cleans and stocks ORs as required.
- Maintains equipment/instruments in working order. Able to troubleshoot, identify problems, make corrections, or contact appropriate personnel for repairs.
Recruitment Bonus:
We are now offering a Clinical Recruiting Bonus of $25,000 dollars for new employees! Rehires are not eligible for this bonus. This bonus will be paid out over four years. You will remain eligible for payments after hire so long as there is no drop below full-time in employment status. MUST be a certified surgical tech to receive this sign on bonus.
