Lead Strategic Deposit Operations Excellence at the Executive Level
We’re looking for an accomplished banking leader to step into a pivotal executive role as SVP, Deposit Operations Officer. In this position, you will be the driving force behind our core banking systems, branch operations support, staff learning and development, and new branch launches. You’ll lead a high-performing team that delivers operational precision, regulatory compliance, and exceptional support to our branch network.
This role requires a strategic thinker who thrives in complex, fast-paced environments and brings deep operational expertise, strong leadership skills, and a passion for innovation in banking services.Key Leadership Responsibilities
Operational Excellence & Compliance
- Maintain expert-level knowledge of deposit regulations, payment systems, AML, and privacy laws to ensure full compliance with all bank policies and federal/state regulations.
- Lead the development, implementation, and monitoring of operational policies and procedures, balancing regulatory compliance, risk mitigation, efficiency, and customer service.
- Partner with other deposit-related SVPs to ensure teams are well-trained and internal controls pass audits and regulatory exams with excellence.
Systems & Product Strategy
- Serve as the strategic advisor for the bank’s core and ancillary deposit systems, influencing direction and enhancements.
- Oversee the research, development, testing, and launch of new deposit products that meet market demands and regulatory requirements.
- Manage vendor relationships for deposit operations systems, ensuring seamless integration of new services and capabilities.
Branch Development & Expansion
- Lead new branch development from lease signing through opening, ensuring operational readiness and compliance from day one.
- Provide high-level operational support and guidance for branch network success across multiple locations.
Policy & Risk Management
- Oversee revisions to account agreements and disclosures to minimize risk, maintain compliance, and support strategic growth.
- Ensure timely operational adjustments in response to changing regulations, new systems, and evolving business practices.
Special Projects & Strategic Initiatives
- Direct special projects, ensuring on-time, on-budget completion while aligning with organizational priorities.
- Commit to at least 10 CRA volunteer hours annually, with compensated time and mileage reimbursement.
What You Bring
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration, or related field—or equivalent relevant experience.
- Experience: 8+ years of progressive branch/deposit operations experience and 5+ years in management within financial services.
- Expertise: In-depth knowledge of banking operations, regulatory requirements, and operational best practices.
- Technology: Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint) and banking platforms.
- Leadership: Proven ability to inspire, coach, and manage high-performing teams in a multi-branch environment.
- Skills: Exceptional organizational, time management, analytical, and decision-making skills, with a strong attention to detail and accuracy.
