Systems Analyst and Workday Integrations Specialist

Grade: 14

BASIC FUNCTION

Under the primary direction of the Director of Enterprise Applications, the Systems Analyst is responsible for Workday integration configurations as well as supporting connected enterprise web-based applications to improve business functions. This position analyzes systems and Workday business processes to recommend and develop business processes and integrations to improve organizational effectiveness.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design, develop, and configure integrations in support of business processes connected to the Workday platform, including HR, Payroll, Finance, and Student processes.
  • Develop documentation and standard operating procedures regarding Workday integrations.
  • Work with internal and external constituents to define requirements and processes related to integration development and related documentation.
  • Assist with the data mapping, data validation and deployment activities of each integration.
  • Work with third-party vendors to coordinate technical configuration and testing.
  • Lead testing of configured and developed integrations.
  • Maintain established integrations.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot and resolve data quality issues related to integrations and web-based applications.
  • Develop and run complex Workday queries and reports.
  • Provide technical support of Workday business processes and reports incorporating integrations.
  • Routinely work with confidential and sensitive HR, Finance, and Student data in support of business processes and system integration
  • Regularly engage in Workday provided training to stay current on platform changes, and to support best practices.

This position reports to the Director of Enterprise Applications.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or related field and at least three (3) years of experience in program analysis or a combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills are acquired.
  • Two (2) years of experience using APIs to integrate systems.
  • Two (2) years of experience developing integrations using JavaScript, XML, and XSLT.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proficiency in Workday integration tools and Workday certifications.
  • Knowledge of the Workday data model.
  • Knowledge of Workday report writing tools.
  • Experience administering and configuring enterprise environments.
  • Understanding of HR, Payroll, Finance, Student processes in a Higher Education environment.
  • Experience with integrated report writer software like SAP Crystal Reports or Eclipse BIRT

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in project management, effective communication skills, and the ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to create effective documentation.
  • Experience in taking complex digital projects from conception to deployment.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and to maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders in a diverse community.
  • Experience working with systems containing sensitive data.

LOCATION

This position may be based on any of the Vermont State College’s campuses or centers. Partial work from home is possible.

Physical Requirements: Duties performed cause slight fatigue of eyes, fingers, or other faculties as a result of repetitive motion and/or long periods of standing or sitting. Duties require little physical effort in work with light to moderate (up to 25lbs) easy-to-handle materials. Duties will occasionally require the climbing of ladders.

Working Conditions: Job is performed in a general office or comparable working area with many and frequent distractions such as noise and interruptions. Work schedule may vary during high volume periods.
