Job Description:
The technical printing operator is primary responsibility for technical screen printing using a variety of automatic printing web lines, focused on manufacturing bio-sensors, membrane switches, and tight tolerance product. Key component to success in this position is following quality guidelines according to FDA mandated cGMP standards.
- Read and understand work orders from the supervisor to verify quantity to be run, color sequence, and any special requirements.
- Load webs of material on and off of the press
- Set up the printing presses, including UV and conventional curing systems.
- Prepare the screens, inks, and substrates for top quality printing.
- Print job maintaining optimum production rate, specified conductivity and resistance, registration, and print quality according to company and customer specifications and guidelines.
- Constantly monitor press performance, temperature settings, screen alignment and registration.
- Screen making, stretch, coat, reclaim and expose screens.
- Mix and adjust inks to specifications.
- Receive, document and properly store inks and substrates.
- Document all processes and complete production records clearly and accurately.
- Ensure proper labeling of materials and cleanliness of entire production area.
- Act as backup for screen making, ink mixing, electrical testing, and inspection of product produced on web lines.
- Other duties as assigned
Required Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- At least 2 years’ experience working in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- At least 3 years’ experience or exposure to printing operations preferred.
Required Skills:
- Good math and analytical skills.
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality and the ability to monitor own work quality
- Ability to plan and organize work activities with a focus on efficiency.
- Demonstrate basic mechanical skills through troubleshooting print operations and equipment issues.
- Proficient with MS Office software
- Ability to develop realistic action plans
- Strong written/verbal communication.
- Good decision making skills
- Ability to work under time constraints with changing priorities
- Able to operate and make decisions independently as necessary.
- Able to work flexible weekly schedule including weekends and/or evenings on short notice.
Pay Range: $21-23 per hour
