Job Purpose Summary:
The Maintenance Mechanic is a member of the Maintenance Team reporting directly to the Maintenance Manager/Supervisors/Shift Leaders. The maintenance mechanic ensures operation of production machinery and mechanical equipment by preforming repairs and preventive maintenance in an effective, efficient and safe manner.

Job Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Install, assemble and test new machines and equipment; understand and comply with workplace safety regulations.
Inspect and monitor machines regularly for signs of malfunctions, including visual inspections, listening for irregular noises and conducting scheduled testing as appropriate.
Perform troubleshooting for production machinery, resulting in successful repair and determination of root cause
Complete routine preventative maintenance and service for each piece of equipment.
Perform emergency repairs on various types of machinery, including mechanical, basic electrical and hydraulic; identifying and replacing worn or damaged parts in a timely manner.
Use a variety of power and hand tools to perform job functions.
Maintain machinery and the adjacent workplace in a state of appropriate cleanliness.
Read and comply with work orders concerning service, modification or installation of machinery.
Work effectively with other team members in a loud environment.
Perform lockout-tag out procedures
Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
Other duties as directed or required.
Qualifications:
Capability to read technical documents, such as: OEM Maint. plans, Blue prints and Software system instructions.
Capability to perform basic mathematical functions
Capability to operate software-based programs for receiving, performing, and completing Work Orders.
Have a strong fundamental understanding of mechanical, hydraulic and circulating systems operation, contamination control and maintenance functions.
Should be qualified to operate lifting equipment (Fork Truck, Ariel lift, Etc.)
Demonstrated initiative and strong work habits.
Knowledge of bearings, gears, greases, seals, vents, breathers, filtration and power transmissions components.
Knowledge of lubrication applications, operating principles and best practices.
Strong mechanical and manufacturing experience.
Ability to safety use hand and power tools.
Ability to act competently in emergencies.
Position Requirements:
Have the ability to climb stairs and ladders.
Able to work in all weather conditions.
Able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
Must be willing and able to work overtime hours during the week, weekends and/or holidays as needed.
Must be proficient in reading, speaking and writing in English for the purpose of record keeping, safety and quality training processes.
Must be able to clearly communicate to co-workers and management.
