Position Summary
The Technology Champion leads ACCESS’s Assistive and Enabling Technology initiative, ensuring individuals have the tools and support needed to increase independence, safety, and overall quality of life through technology.
This role involves identifying and assessing individuals to determine technology needs, delivering organization-wide training, and tracking data to evaluate impact. The Technology Champion also oversees the Technology Team to ensure ACCESS’s “technology first” philosophy is implemented consistently and sustainably across all service areas.
In addition to promoting innovation and empowerment, this position plays a key role in representing ACCESS with both internal teams and external partners, providing outstanding customer service and helping shape a positive first impression of our organization.
Key Responsibilities
· Coordinate the implementation of ACCESS’s Assistive and Enabling Technology initiatives
· Assess supported individuals to identify technology solutions that promote independence and safety
· Oversee and support the work of the Technology Team
· Plan and facilitate trainings, demonstrations, and education sessions for staff and families
· Track outcomes and maintain data related to technology use and success metrics
· Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure smooth and appropriate integration of technology
· Promote a positive “technology first” approach across the organization
· Maintain regular communication with staff, supported individuals, and families
· Ensure compliance with relevant policies, procedures, and confidentiality standards
Requirements
Education & Certification
· Bachelor’s degree preferred
· Certification from SHIFT as an Assistive/Enabling Technology Integration Specialist (ETIS), or willingness to obtain certification upon hire
Experience & Knowledge
· Minimum of one year of successful experience in a similar role preferred
· Familiarity with assistive/enabling technologies and integration strategies a plus
Skills & Abilities
· Ability to follow verbal and written instructions effectively
· Strong multitasking and time management skills in a fast-paced environment
· Proficient in documentation and records maintenance
· Understanding of regulations regarding client records
· Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally
