Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Field Installer to join our team. This role primarily involves the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of customer premise wiring and telecommunications equipment. The position also requires performing moves, adds, and changes (MACs) based on customer needs.
As the on-site representative of Network South, the Field Installer plays a key role in delivering high-quality workmanship, maintaining field quality control standards, and ensuring complete customer satisfaction with our products and services.
Job Responsibilities
- Install, terminate, label, and test structured cabling systems, including but not limited to Category 5e, Category 6, Coaxial, and Fiber Optic cable.
- Troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues such as internet, dial tone problems, inoperable phones, voicemail failures, paging equipment, and data equipment malfunctions.
- Maintain, repair, and service cabling and telecommunications systems in compliance with manufacturer specifications and industry best practices.
- Complete ongoing training and development in Key Systems, PBX, VoIP, and other telecommunications technologies and services.
- Deliver excellent customer service and represent Network South with professionalism and integrity on every job site.
Qualifications & Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certifications in low-voltage cabling or telecommunications preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in structured cabling installation, telecommunications, or related field.
- Working knowledge of Category 5e/6 wiring standards, Coaxial, and Fiber Optic cabling.
- Familiarity with Key Systems, PBX, VoIP, and related telecom/data systems a plus.
- Familiarity with Paging Systems and related equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents, blueprints, and wiring diagrams.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with a detail-oriented approach.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs., climb ladders, and work in confined spaces as needed.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
- Must successfully pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $28.00 per hour
Expected hours: 32 – 40 per week
