Job Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Telemetry Expert with over 20 years of experience to support our telemetry operations and engineering efforts. This role requires a deep understanding of telemetry systems, data analysis, network infrastructure, and real-time monitoring. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on problem solver, a proactive leader, and possess the ability to mentor junior engineers. This role will involve frequent collaboration with engineers, scientists, and operations personnel across multiple teams. The successful candidate must be willing to travel approximately 25% of the time, with occasional extended (up to 30 days) mission support assignments.
Duties
* **Telemetry System Design and Implementation:*
* Lead the development and implementation of complex telemetry systems for a variety of platforms and applications.
* Evaluate and select telemetry hardware and software solutions based on project requirements and budget.
* Develop and maintain telemetry system architectures, interfaces, and documentation.
* Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices for telemetry data acquisition, processing, and storage.
* **Telemetry Operations and Support:**
* Provide expert-level support for telemetry operations, including real-time data monitoring, analysis, and troubleshooting.
* Develop and maintain operational procedures for telemetry data acquisition, processing, and archiving.
* Participate in mission planning and execution, providing telemetry expertise and support to ensure mission success.
* Perform data quality control and validation to ensure data integrity and accuracy.
* **Data Analysis and Interpretation:**
* Analyze telemetry data to identify trends, anomalies, and performance issues.
* Maintain data visualization tools and techniques to effectively communicate telemetry data to stakeholders.
* Generate reports and presentations summarizing telemetry data analysis findings and recommendations.
* Collaborate with engineers and scientists to interpret telemetry data and support system design and troubleshooting.
* **Leadership and Mentorship:**
* Provide technical leadership and guidance to junior engineers and technicians.
* Mentor and train team members on telemetry systems and best practices.
* Contribute to the development of training materials and documentation.
* Participate in technical reviews and provide feedback on designs and implementations.
* **Continuous Improvement:**
* Identify opportunities to improve telemetry system performance, reliability, and efficiency.
* Research and evaluate new technologies and techniques for telemetry data acquisition, processing, and analysis.
* Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices related to telemetry systems.
* **Travel and Mission Support:**
* Travel approximately 25% of the time to support field operations, system deployments, and customer engagements.
* Provide occasional extended (up to 30 days) mission support, including on-site troubleshooting and data analysis.
* Represent the company in a professional and technical manner during customer interactions and industry events.
**Qualifications:**
* Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering or other technical field
* Minimum of 20 years of experience in telemetry system implementation and operations.
* Extensive knowledge of telemetry hardware and software systems, including data acquisition units, data loggers, and data analysis tools.
* Proven, in-depth experience with telemetry decommutation and display systems
* Hands-on experience with NetAcquire Telemetry Data Processors and MissionView/Data Flow products is strongly preferred
* Deep understanding of data communication protocols and network infrastructure.
* Experience with real-time data monitoring and analysis techniques.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Proven track record of leadership and mentorship.
* Experience with Broad Ocean Area test support.
* Must be willing and able to travel approximately 25% of the time, with occasional extended (up to 30 days) mission support assignments.
* Secret Security Clearance Required/TS Desired
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $42.41 - $51.07 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
