The Telesitting Nurse Manager reports to the Director of Telesitting Operations. Under general supervision and leadership of the Chief Nursing Officer, the Telesitting Nurse Manager provides direct oversight of our 24/7 patient safety observation. This position collaborates with the interdisciplinary team at client sites to promote coordinated use of resources across multiple specialities and facilities. The goal is to optimize the sustainability and functional efficiency of the program. This position works in partnership with nursing leadership at client sites to develop and deploy cost avoidance strategies by demonstrating an understanding of many factors that play into success of patient safety programs including: legal, creditialicng, licensing, policies, administrative, technical, human relations, and financial issues.
Requirements (Education and Work Experience):
Must be an RN for at least 5 years, preferably with at least three years in managing complex programs. Must have strong assessment, organizational and problem-solving skills. Demonstrates strong communication skills, proficient time management skills and the ability to function independently. Experience with telehealth platforms preferred. Ability to understand and implement a variety of detailed instructions in the execution of complex procedures including program operations, planning, development, and budgeting preferred. A customer service-oriented demeanor essential. Licensure as a Registered Nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state. Licensure in other states as required by contract.
- Provide oversight of supervisors.
- Oversee and coordinate staffing needs for the observation team.
- Oversee hiring responsibilities for the office.
- Step in to assist with staffing interviews when necessary.
- Oversee the creation and maintenance of schedules, ensuring adequate coverage for all shifts.
- Assign duties and responsibilities to observers, ensuring that patient needs are met.
- Lead staff meetings, orientation, and employee trainings.
- Monitor and evaluate the quality of patient care provided by observers, implementing improvements as needed.
- Collaborate with observation client sites to develop and implement policies and procedures that promote patient safety and quality care through the use of our telesitting program.
- Handle budgeting and financial management for the observation department, ensuring resources are used efficiently.
- Resolve any issues or conflicts that arise among the observation staff, promoting a positive work environment.
- Go-Live support for observation staff.
- Ensure optimal functioning of monitoring equipment to promote a high quality, efficient monitoring service.
- Manage office downtimes and disaster response.
