Position Description:The Department of Economics at DePaul University invites applications for two full-time, non-tenure track faculty position beginning in September 2025. These are renewable one-year appointments, based on performance and university funding.
We seek candidates with a strong commitment to teaching primarily undergraduate courses, particularly in introductory economics and business analytics. While candidates from all fields of economics will be considered, demonstrated excellence in teaching will be given priority.
Responsibilities include teaching nine 10 week classes per academic year, primarily in face-to-face formats, holding regular office hours, and participating in general department meeting and activities.
The Department of Economics offers undergraduate degrees through both the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences and the Driehaus College of Business. We also offer a Master of Science in Economics and an MBA specilization in Business Strategy.
- A PhD in economics is preferred.
- Prior teaching experience is strongly preferred.
- Industry experience is a plus.

About DePaul University's Academic Calendar
Except for the College of Law, DePaul University operates on a quarter system. Classes in Autumn, Winter, and Spring quarters are 11 weeks in length (including finals week) and Summer courses, in two sessions, are typically 5 weeks in length. The College of Law operates on the semester system. Classes in the Fall and Spring semesters are 16 weeks in length (including finals week) and it offers a Summer Session of 7 weeks (including final exams).
