This key position will lead logistics transportation procurement within our sourcing team, managing crucial supplier relationships and defining category strategies. You'll oversee the negotiation of logistics agreements and contractual activities while working in our dynamic startup environment. Success requires navigating ambiguity, developing innovative processes, and communicating effectively across organizational boundaries.
You Will:
- Lead end-to-end logistics spend management for inbound and outbound transportation
- Develop and execute comprehensive transportation sourcing strategies across all freight modes (Air, Ocean, Trucking, Parcel, Final Mile)
- Build and maintain strategic partnerships with carriers and freight forwarders at all levels
- Negotiate and finalize NDAs, Master Service Agreements, Statements of Work, and other contractual documents
- Create total cost of ownership (TCO) models and implement transparent supplier relationship management practices
- Serve as primary point of contact for all commercial matters, providing internal status reporting on sourcing, availability, and costs
- Identify and implement continuous cost optimization opportunities through cross-functional collaboration
- Partner with Supply Chain, Finance, Sales, and Service teams to deliver aggressive yet realistic cost projections
- Conduct quarterly business reviews and carrier scorecard evaluations
- Meet established targets for cost performance, quality, compliance, and on-time delivery
- Limited travel (<10%) for in-person supplier business reviews
You Bring:
- Bachelor's degree required in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Engineering, or Business (Master's degree preferred)
- 8+ years of progressive experience in Logistics Procurement
- Automotive industry experience in sourcing transportation services (Ocean, Air, LTL, Parcel, Truckload, Final Mile), warehousing services, and customs operations preferred
- Demonstrated expertise with logistics operations, Transportation Management System, and eSourcing platforms
- Proven negotiation skills for freight agreements with carriers and freight forwarders
- Deep understanding of freight brokerage models, total cost modeling, and rate benchmarking
- A track record of achieving results in fast-paced environments
- Self-motivated with excellent interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated experience in:
