In this role you will supervise and perform all relative facets and functions of a transportation team including: drivers, cross-dock operations, offloading transfers, preparing local routes, ensuring driver success and route running as needed.

What You’ll Do:

As a Transportation Supervisor, your day will be a balance of leadership and hands-on action. You’ll:

  • Supervise and coordinate daily transportation activities, ensuring timely and efficient deliveries.
  • Lead safety initiatives, including training, policy adherence, accident reporting, and compliance investigations.
  • Participate in employee selection, hiring, onboarding, training, coaching, and performance evaluations.
  • Prepare driver schedules, track attendance, manage PTO requests, and verify time card accuracy.
  • Ensure drivers complete all necessary tasks, including pre/post-trip DVIRs, paperwork, technology usage, and route preparation.
  • Review daily activity, provide constructive feedback, and collaborate with the Transportation Router to optimize route planning.
  • Foster a culture of accountability and engagement among drivers, ensuring high performance and job satisfaction.
  • Oversee compliance with all company policies, government regulations, and safety procedures.
  • Ensure fleet readiness by verifying that all equipment is in working order and coordinating necessary repairs.
  • Conduct driver meetings and provide ongoing support to ensure smooth operations.

  • Interact professionally with external customers, identifying and implementing solutions to improve service.
  • Assist in dispatching, managing fleet compliance with DOT standards, and working with external service providers as needed.

What You Bring to the Table:

  • A passion for making a positive impact on people and fostering a fun and engaging work environment.
  • Strong ability to plan and coordinate workflow while effectively managing resources.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Delivery Driver in an LTL or small package environment.
  • Current DOT medical card for truck moves and deliveries.
  • Proficiency in DOT Hours of Service regulations and experience with ELD software (e.g., Samsara, PeopleNet, Omnitracs).
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office, MS Teams, and ADP.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to operational excellence.
  • Experience operating powered lift equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks).
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess situations, determine actions, and communicate solutions effectively.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience with Produce Pro software or an AS/400 platform is highly desirable.
  • Proven ability to lead teams, provide feedback, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Ability to successfully dispatch drivers, conduct pre-shift meetings, and adjust schedules as necessary.
  • Strong customer service skills, with the ability to collaborate with external customers for mutual success.
  • Ability to manage and maintain a fleet of trucks in compliance with DOT standards, including coordination with external service providers.
