Ultrasound Operations Manager

Position Overview:
Magdou Health is seeking a dedicated and experienced Ultrasound Operations Manager to lead and oversee all aspects of our ultrasound operations throughout the Houston Metroplex. This role involves managing a diverse team of On-Call ultrasound technologists who support our network of free-standing emergency rooms (ERs)—while ensuring the highest standards in imaging quality, patient care, compliance, and departmental efficiency.
***Please Note: This is a “Working Manager” position. A flexible schedule is essential for this position. The successful candidate must be available to respond to dynamic staffing needs, support on-call coverage coordination, including but not limited to, assisting during days, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the daily operations of the ultrasound department, including staffing, scheduling, equipment maintenance, and quality assurance.
- Oversee scheduling, including holiday and weekend coverage, ensuring adequate staffing across all service areas.
- Supervise a multidisciplinary team of ultrasound technologists (full-time, part-time and PRN).
- Recruit, hire, onboard, and provide ongoing training and performance evaluations for staff.
- Ensure on-call ultrasound technologists meet response time and clinical quality expectations when covering free-standing ERs.
- Support ultrasound technologists with complex procedures as needed.
- Develop and implement departmental policies and protocols to meet regulatory and accreditation standards.
- Maintain compliance with industry regulations, safety standards, and internal quality benchmarks.
- Coordinate closely with physicians, nurses, and other clinical staff to ensure smooth workflows and collaborative care.
- Monitor equipment performance, coordinate maintenance, repairs, and manage supply inventory.
- Represent the ultrasound department in organizational meetings and committees, contributing to cross-functional improvements.
Compensation: Management Fee, plus Per Patient Scan Fee
Technologists You Will Oversee – Overview:
Title: On-Call Ultrasound Technologist
Status: Full-Time, Part-Time, PRN, (On-Call Only)
Compensation: Per Patient Scan Fee
Key Duties of Technologists Include:
- Provide ultrasound services to Magdou Health's free-standing ER locations on an on-call basis.
- Respond within one hour to requests during scheduled call shifts.
- Perform a variety of diagnostic ultrasound exams-General and Vascular
- Ensure accurate image documentation and collaborate with ER teams for effective care delivery.
- Maintain and calibrate ultrasound equipment per established protocols.

Qualifications & Skills:
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in diagnostic medical sonography.
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
- BLS, ARDMS certification and any required state licensure (Texas).
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and comfort in a high-demand clinical environment.
- Proficiency in imaging software, electronic health records, and scheduling tools.
- ✅ Must be able to maintain a flexible work schedule, including availability during evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
