TERRITORY DETAILS: West Region
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: At least 30% travel and weekend work are required throughout the year and overnight travel is expected. Employee needs to be available for two to three weekends per month during competition season (November through May).
HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
As a member of the Scoring and Judging team, the USA Scoring Specialist enhances the company’s competition/event department through coordinating the Training and Education of the USA Score Sheets and scheduling of judges for USA Competitions.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Work with the scoring committee on changes to deduction system, rules and score sheets for HS and College
- Work with curriculum on camps to make sure accurate information is in summer manuals.
- Work with curriculum on camp products/content to be consistent across camps and competitions.
- Create all scoring related documents.
- Handle Coaches training and scoring support throughout the season
- Customer questions regarding scoring
- On-site scoring questions at select USA regional events – including Championships
- Communicate with all scoring coordinators in all Legacy Brands updates and changes.
- Creates Judges and Coaches Training/Curriculum
- Selecting and securing judges for school regional competitions
- Including onboarding, compliance, scheduling and payment
- Works closely with the Varsity Regional offices to ensure the proper number of judging panels are supplied for each coordinated event
- Confirms judges, secure travel arrangements and approve payments
- Follows up with judges post event that need additional training based on knowledge-based issues
- Suspends low performance judges based on lack of knowledge, behavior, or any other professionalism issues
- Performs Judges Evaluations at the end of the season
- Build and maintain strong relationships with the Judges
QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- General knowledge of Cheer and Dance scoring
- Attention to detail, ability to multitask and prioritize tasks with strict deadlines
- Self-motivated; ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to lead, develop and motivate others to reach their full potential
- Ability to manage budgets
- Excellent problem-solving abilities
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management and team members
- Proficient in Outlook, Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point required
- Other duties assigned

Supervisory Responsibility
- This job does not require any full-time supervisory roles, however, will supervise staff and judges on site at USA, as well as other Varsity competitions.
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in events/competitions
- Proven ability leading a team with demonstrated business results
- Strong computer skills and knowledge of MS Windows and MS Office required
