Position Summary:
We at The Heart Institute of Venice are seeking a skilled and dedicated Ultrasound Technician with vascular experience to join our imaging team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing diagnostic vascular ultrasound examinations, including but not limited to carotid, venous, arterial, and abdominal Doppler studies. This role requires strong technical skills, patient care abilities, and the ability to work collaboratively with physicians and medical staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform high-quality vascular ultrasound procedures as ordered by physicians.
- Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment and ensure images meet quality standards.
- Evaluate the quality of studies and make necessary adjustments for optimal imaging.
- Assist in the diagnosis and assessment of vascular conditions including deep vein thrombosis (DVT), peripheral artery disease (PAD), and carotid artery disease.
- Accurately document and report findings to interpreting physicians.
- Prepare patients for procedures, explaining the process and answering questions to ensure comfort and understanding.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
- Comply with all departmental policies, procedures, and safety standards.
- Maintain records of procedures performed and ensure timely submission of documentation.
- Participate in ongoing training, quality assurance, and continuing education activities.
Qualifications:
- Education: Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program.
- Certification:
- Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) or Registered Vascular Sonographer (RVS) certification required.
- ARDMS or CCI credentials preferred.
- Experience:
- Minimum 1–2 years of vascular ultrasound experience preferred.
- Proficiency in vascular protocols and Doppler imaging.
- Skills:
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
- Proficiency with PACS, EMR systems, and ultrasound machines.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for long periods, lift patients, and maneuver equipment as needed.
- May require working evenings, weekends, or on-call shifts depending on facility needs.
