The Accountant I is responsible for basic journal entries and low volume account reconciliations. Assists with client billing activities as directed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Include the following. Others may be assigned.

  • Responsible for monitoring online banking including daily review of exceptions, rejected items and resolution of issues, upload of positive pay files, process and make deposits while meeting all bank deadlines.
  • Monitor daily cash positions and prepare daily banking summaries for all assigned accounts.
  • Complete Weekly/monthly accounts and bank reconciliations for all banks.
  • Process client incidents sent by the Customer Service team for bank related issues (Missing Checks, check tracers, Returned Checks, etc.).
  • Provide support in preparation of cash forecasts, Financials, Internal and external Audits, and regulatory compliance reporting.
  • Maintain a detailed log of all the client bank accounts, including list of all users (Admins, signers, users, Bank representatives) and their contact information.
  • Maintain, create, and review process documentation on a regular basis to identify opportunities for process improvement.
  • Complete other projects as assigned by Finance Management, May assist with client invoicing activities.
  • Implement New Bank Accounts, EFT setup, Check Testing and Positive Pay Files.
  • Act as the main contact for commercial banks to manage for our clients.

  • Experience with month end close and General Ledger (G/L) reconciliation

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

Include minimum education, technical training, and/or experience preferred to perform the job.

  • Bachelor’s degree with major in Accounting or Finance - or equivalent experience.
  • 1 – 3 years of Accounting experience including Financial Statements; 3-5 years as an Accountant.

Compensation and Benefit Information

Compensation

  • Pay: $43,056 - $68,848 annually. Compensation depends on location, qualifications, and experience.
  • Management level positions may be eligible for sign-on and relocation bonuses.
