As a Veterinary Clinic Assistant, you’ll be a key part of our mobile clinic team—helping deliver essential veterinary services with compassion, accuracy, and care. This is a hands-on, fast-paced role ideal for individuals who enjoy working with animals and people. Whether you’re just starting out or looking to grow in the pet care industry, we provide full on-the-job training. No previous veterinary experience is required.

We provide comprehensive on-the-job training so you can gain the skills needed to thrive in this role—from animal handling and customer service to mobile clinic operations. If you’re dependable, motivated to learn, and passionate about animal care, we want you on our team.


Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Welcome and assist pet parents throughout the clinic experience, delivering excellent customer service.
  • Safely handle and restrain pets during wellness procedures such as vaccines, nail trims, and microchipping.
  • Prepare and administer vaccines; label and dispense medications appropriately.
  • Collect and prepare blood and fecal samples for lab testing.
  • Support product and service recommendations based on pet lifestyle and health needs.
  • Promote microchipping and educate pet parents on the benefits of preventive care.
  • Drive the company vehicle to and from clinic locations; load and unload equipment and supplies.
  • Collaborate with your team to ensure clinic goals are achieved in a safe and efficient manner.

Essential Functions/Job Duties:

  • Perform pet wellness procedures under the supervision of licensed veterinary professionals.
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment by disinfecting clinic spaces and equipment.
  • Monitor and manage product inventory, including tracking expiration dates.
  • Operate clinic equipment and digital tools such as tablets and Bluetooth-enabled devices.
  • Ensure a safe, respectful, and organized clinic space for pets, pet parents, and team members.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older with a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to drive a company vehicle to clinic locations.
  • Reliable transportation to and from work.
  • Available to work weekends and a variety of weekday shifts, including occasional overnight travel.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Willingness to work full clinic days (up to 12–14 hours).
  • Comfort working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Professional appearance, punctuality, and strong interpersonal skills.

Education Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

Job Overview:

  • Collect payment, dispense and label medication, and review discharge paperwork with pet parents
  • Safely demonstrate skill in performing nail trims
  • Learn to administer vaccines, scan, and administer microchips, and to perform phlebotomy
  • Collect and prepare blood and fecal samples for laboratory testing
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment by disinfecting surfaces and equipment between each pet
  • Drive van to and from clinics responsibly; load and unload the vans upon arrival and departure (Community Clinics)
  • Aid the clinic flow by utilizing effective communication, organization, and time management skills
  • Make recommendations for services and products to every pet, every time, based on pet’s lifestyle and an understanding of canine and feline diseases
  • Promote a culture of safety in your clinic and live our values while reinforcing our brand promise with pet parents, partners, and team members
  • Support inventory processes by maintaining accurate product counts and managing expiration dates for vaccines and products
  • Achieve at least one of three clinic job competencies (Expert Handler, Phlebotomist, Injection Specialist)
  • Provide customer service to pet parents by answering questions and assisting them through the clinic process
  • Achieve goals as set by your manager including dollars per pet, pets per clinic, preferred product and microchips sold
  • Scan pets for microchips
  • Prepare canine and feline vaccines
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with pet parents and partners
