We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Assistant to join our team. As a Kennel Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care for animals in our facility, assisting with daily operations, and supporting veterinary staff as needed.
Responsibilities
- Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, grooming, and exercising pets.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kennels, play areas, and equipment.
- Monitor animal behavior and health, reporting any concerns to veterinary staff.
- Assist with medication administration as directed by veterinary professionals.
- Support front desk operations by greeting clients and managing appointments.
- Handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques during examinations or procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of animal care and treatments administered.
- Assist in laboratory tasks as needed, including sample collection and processing.
- Ensure compliance with aseptic techniques during all procedures.
Skills
- Previous kennel experience or strong background in animal husbandry.
- Familiarity with veterinary terminology and animal physiology.
- Experience in veterinary clinic settings or as a veterinary assistant is preferred.
- Knowledge of medication administration and animal restraint techniques.
- Ability to handle various types of animals safely, including dogs and equines.
- Strong communication skills for interacting with clients and team members.
- Attention to detail in maintaining records and following protocols.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $12.50 - $13.00 per hour
