HEAL Vet is looking for a qualified, energetic, passionate Veterinary Technician Assistant to join our team. POSITION SUMMARY: The Veterinary Technician Assistant performs a vital role and function within HEAL and is a cornerstone position in the support of our patients and hospital.
Primary responsibilities:
- Support of lead veterinary techs and vet assistants in providing care to canine and feline patients.
- Anticipating supply needs, cleaning, restocking, reset of workspaces throughout the day
- Care and keeping of the physical hospital facilities/ supplies and all in-patients
- Adherence to daily, weekly, and monthly tasks to ensure a clean, disease-free environment that is safe for elderly and immune-compromised pets
- Assisting for various medical procedures and diagnostics, such as blood collection, IV catheter placement, radiograph positioning
- Laundry, and laundry distribution
- Inpatient care and oversight
- Running in house labs
- Assisting with fill of pharmacy prescriptions
- Assisting with tech appts
- Surgical instruments cleaning, wrapping, and sterilization
- Medical documentation support
Ideal candidate for this position:
1-2 years working in a veterinary facility as a kennel tech or veterinary assistant
Adaptable
Teachable
Desire to learn integrative, holistic and rehabilitation services within veterinary medicine
Student in Veterinary Technology Relaxed, self-starter, who takes pride in quality workmanship
Individual who thrives in a teamwork environment
