Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in veterinary care and be passionate about providing exceptional support to both animals and their owners. As a Veterinary Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the health and well-being of our patients while assisting veterinarians in various medical procedures.
Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and other medical procedures.
- Perform animal restraint techniques to ensure safety for both the animal and staff.
- Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed by the veterinarian.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and overall health during procedures.
- Conduct laboratory tests, including blood work and urinalysis.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each patient.
- Educate pet owners on proper animal care, nutrition, and preventive health measures.
- Provide grooming services as needed to maintain the hygiene of animals.
- Ensure that all equipment is properly sterilized and maintained.
- Support animal husbandry practices to promote healthy living environments for all animals.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Veterinary Technician or similar role in a veterinary setting.
- Strong knowledge of veterinary terminology and animal physiology.
- Familiarity with veterinary critical care practices is preferred.
- Experience with animal catheterization and handling techniques.
- Ability to perform animal restraint safely and effectively.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with pet owners and team members.
- A compassionate attitude towards animals and their well-being.
- Certification or degree in Veterinary Technology is preferred but not required.
