Piper Companies is currently seeking a Veterinary Technician to support animal care and research operations for a highly reputable research institution in Philadelphia, PA.
Responsibilities for the Veterinary Technician
- Provide day-to-day care and medical support for animals in a research setting
- Assist with surgical procedures and monitor post-operative recovery
- Perform drug dosing, anesthesia, and treatment administration
- Maintain documentation and coordinate with scientists and external partners
- Contribute to routine lab operations and administrative duties
Qualifications for the Veterinary Technician
- Experience with anesthesia, surgical assistance, and pre/post-operative care
- Comfortable handling rodents and large animals
- Ability to work independently and manage priorities
- Proficient in calculating drug dosages and understanding treatment protocols
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal) required
Compensation for the Veterinary Technician
- Hourly Rate: $25/hr. – $27/hr. based on experience
- Contract: 3-month contract with potential for extension or permanent hire
- Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, Sick Leave (if required by law)
