We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Vice President, Full-Stack Engineer II to join our ETF Technology Team. This role is located in Lake Mary, FL or New York City.
In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:
- 7-9 years of hands-on experience in Java and Spring Boot technologies, with deep expertise in core modules such as Spring MVC, Spring Data JPA, Spring Security, Spring Batch, Spring Events, and Spring Boot Actuator.
- Strong proficiency in designing and developing RESTful APIs, integrating with relational databases using Hibernate and JPA, and implementing secure authentication mechanisms using OAuth2 and JWT. Experienced in building scalable microservices using Spring Cloud components like Eureka, Config Server, and API Gateway.
- Well-versed in DevOps practices, utilizing tools such as Maven, Docker, and Kubernetes for continuous integration, deployment, and container orchestration. Familiar with observability and monitoring tools like Grafana and Prometheus.
- 4+ years of experience in Test-Driven Development (TDD) with a solid understanding of unit testing and mocking frameworks such as Mockito and JUnit. Exposure to Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) using tools like Cucumber is a plus.
- 2+ years of experience in functional testing of enterprise applications, contributing to end-to-end quality assurance and validation processes.
- Proficient in Agile/Scrum methodologies, participating in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and iterative development cycles to deliver high-quality software in a collaborative environment.
- 7+ years of experience designing and developing transactional systems using leading RDBMS platforms such as Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle, with a strong focus on performance and data integrity.
- Extensive experience across the full software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance of enterprise-grade applications.
- Proven track record in building and maintaining large-scale, high-performance software systems, ensuring scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
- Expertise in developing microservices-based architectures, following best practices for modularity, service discovery, fault tolerance, and inter-service communication.
- Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with a collaborative mindset and the ability to guide junior developers, conduct code reviews, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required.
- 7-9 years of experience in software development required; experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus.
- Experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus
- Understanding interdependencies and business impact of future IT plans.
- S/he must have prior lead experience selecting and implementing vendor-specific methodologies and prior consulting experience with structured methodologies.
- Must have broad experience with multi-platform development tools and toolkits.

The Bank of New York Mellon assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary/range for this position is expected to be $95,000 to $173,000 per year at the commencement of employment. Base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of The Bank of New York Mellon total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs.
This position is at-will, and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
