Team Overview
We are seeking a Vice President, Technical Writer to lead and evolve our technical documentation strategy, ensuring consistency, quality, and usability across all platforms. The successful candidate will play a central role in managing legacy content, improving tooling and workflows, and raising documentation standards across the organisation.
This is a hands-on leadership role suited to candidates with experience in fintech, SaaS, or complex technology environments.
Role Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, creation, and delivery of high-quality internal and external product documentation, including user guides, technical overviews, release notes, and platform specifications.
- Conduct a full review of legacy documentation and work with SMEs to update or rewrite outdated or high-impact materials in line with current standards.
- Develop, implement, and champion a standardised style guide to ensure consistency and accessibility across all technical documentation.
- Build strong relationships with Product Owners, Engineers, and Client Services to gather accurate source material and align documentation priorities with business needs.
- Drive improvements to documentation tools and workflows in collaboration with IT and DevOps teams, ensuring content is easy to access, maintain, and scale.
- Deliver clear, timely release notes that support product launches and sprint deliverables across multiple business lines.
- Own the documentation handover process from a retiring team member, ensuring continuity of knowledge and structured onboarding.
- Mentor junior writers and cross-functional contributors, promoting high-quality writing practices and scalable documentation standards.
Required Skills
- Demonstrates 8+ years of relevant experience in technical writing, preferably within fintech, SaaS, or regulated technology sectors.
- Shows excellent knowledge of the documentation lifecycle, structured writing techniques, and content governance frameworks.
- Brings proven experience reviewing and refactoring existing documentation to improve accuracy, readability, and user value.
- Demonstrates the ability to introduce and embed standardised content style and formatting across multiple stakeholders.
- Has strong experience mentoring writers and influencing cross-functional teams on best practices in documentation.
- Exhibits a proactive, detail-oriented approach with strong planning and organisational skills across multiple parallel deliverables.
- Communicates with clarity, adapting content for technical and non-technical audiences across multiple formats.
- Possesses strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, SnagIT, RoboHelp (or equivalent), with the ability to evaluate and improve documentation tooling.
- Understands how to operate effectively in an Agile product environment, interpreting sprint plans and product updates for documentation needs.

- Compensation: The annual base salary range for this role is $90,000 - $110,000, plus a performance-based annual bonus. This range is a general guideline; final offers consider factors such as role scope, candidate experience, internal equity, and market factors.
