Position Overview
The Team Videographer will support the club’s marketing and creative efforts by producing dynamic video content promoting Detroit City FC’s teams and community programs. Reporting to the Chief Creative Officer, this role is integral to the digital content strategy, contributing to fan engagement and brand storytelling through original and compelling video. The position involves collaboration with marketing, creative, and community teams, managing production workflows, and ensuring high-quality delivery across multiple platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce, edit, and deliver engaging video content for Detroit City FC’s social media, website, app, and other digital channels.
- Collaborate with marketing and creative teams to conceptualize, coordinate, and execute original digital content ideas and multi-platform campaigns aligning with Detroit City FC’s brand and community values.
- Manage media assets and organize the club’s digital video archive for efficient retrieval and reuse.
- Travel with the men’s outdoor, women’s outdoor, and youth teams to capture game day footage, behind-the-scenes moments, and event coverage.
- Support live video capture and content production at home games and special events.
- Manage the clubs' YouTube channel.
- Assist in creating promotional materials for all Detroit City FC brands and community outreach programs, such as summer camps and fieldhouse activities.
- Assist in documenting the story of the construction of AlumniFi Field, the forever home of DCFC.
- Monitor emerging media trends and technologies and provide recommendations for innovation and content strategy enhancement.
- Contribute to the long-term understanding of fan consumption patterns, digital engagement, and audience segmentation to optimize content targeting and impact.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support game day production and enhance fan experience through digital storytelling.
- Collaborate on larger-scale projects such as kit reveals, media days, and club announcements.
Reporting Structure
- Reports directly to the Chief Creative Officer.
- Works collaboratively with marketing, creative, community relations, and technical teams.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in videography, video editing, and digital content production, preferably in sports or entertainment.
- Experience travelling embedded with college or pro sports teams.
- Expertise in video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects) and motion graphics tools.
- Strong creative vision and the ability to translate marketing concepts into compelling digital video stories.
- Experience managing digital content assets and familiarity with digital asset management systems.
- Strong organizational skills, detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with diverse internal teams and external partners.
- Ability and willingness to travel frequently with teams and work flexible hours to support events.
- Passion for soccer and alignment with Detroit City FC’s culture and community.
- Understanding of data-driven content strategy, audience segmentation, and digital engagement metrics is a plus.
