Opportunity: Freelance Videographer for Michigan-Based Video Agency
Role: Independent Contractor – On-Call Videographer
Type: Flexible (2–5 shoots/month to start), Opportunity for 5-10+ shoots per month
Pay: $400 for a 3-6 hour shoot.
Location: Detroit — Shoot on site in Detroit, Grand Rapids, & Traverse City

We film 4 months of content in a single day, handling everything from scripting to shoot-day execution. Our clients trust us to guide them on camera and create footage that makes them look and feel like experts.
We’re hiring a contract-based videographer who can reliably show up, coach clients, and capture footage that’s clean, compelling, and ready to edit — without needing micromanagement.
What You’ll Be Doing
You'll represent Wandr North on location — bringing calm energy, coaching clients through on-camera delivery, and capturing high-quality content that aligns with our proven systems.
On-Site Execution
- Guide clients through pre-written scripts with energy and confidence
- Film talking-head content, testimonials, and natural b-roll on client sites
- Capture clean, well-lit, properly framed footage with strong audio
- Adapt to office, industrial, or outdoor locations with minimal setup time
Coordination + Delivery
- Use your own gear (camera, lights, mics, tripod, teleprompter)
- Follow our SOPs for shoot-day prep, client communication, and file upload
- Upload raw footage within 24 hours of each shoot
- Maintain 10–20 hours of open availability each week for scheduling
Who You Are
You’re a self-reliant creative with a professional edge. You know how to direct real people (not actors) and solve problems calmly.
You:
- Own your own pro-level gear (camera, mics, lighting, teleprompter/tablet rig)
- Have experience shooting with mirrorless cameras (Canon, Sony, etc.)
- Are confident coaching people on delivery and helping them feel at ease
- Are responsive, detail-oriented, and able to work independently
- Are open to travel within Michigan and can commit to 5 day scheduling notice
- Can represent Wandr North professionally on-site
Compensation Structure
- Half day rate: $400 for 3-6 hour shoot
- Mileage: Reimbursed at federal rate for approved travel
- No retainers or monthly guarantees – we assign work based on fit and availability
Path to Autonomy
If we move forward:
- You’ll sign a standard Independent Contractor Agreement
- Shadow the founder on a few initial shoots and assist on set
- Gradually take lead while the founder shadows your workflow
- Be fully autonomous within 30 days and start operating independently on shoots
