The Vintage Power Specialist serves as a subject matter expert and client liaison for vintage tractor and antique equipment consignments. This individual is responsible for sourcing consignments, developing relationships with collectors, researching equipment history, and collaborating with the marketing and cataloging teams to present collections with accuracy and enthusiasm. The ideal candidate has deep knowledge of antique machinery, enjoys building customer relationships, and has a strong presence in the collector community.
Key Responsibilities
- Client & Consignment Relations
- Build and maintain strong relationships with collectors, sellers, and enthusiasts.
- Identify and secure valuable consignments through outreach, referrals, and industry events.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to clients throughout the consignment process.
- Industry Expertise & Research
- Evaluate and authenticate vintage power equipment, including tractors, steam engines, and related items.
- Research and document historical and mechanical details for catalog and marketing use.
- Stay informed about market trends, pricing, and notable collections.
- Cataloging Support
- Provide accurate descriptions, specifications, and historical context for auction items.
- Work with the photography and cataloging teams to ensure high-quality presentation of equipment.
- Assist in organizing and arranging items during on-site auctions or preview events.
- Auction Support
- Assist with on-site auction setup and client interaction.
- Help facilitate bidder and consignor questions related to equipment details.
- Travel as needed to attend auction cataloging trips, open houses and pickups, assess consignments, or meet with clients.
Qualifications
- In-depth knowledge of vintage tractors, and antique mechanical equipment
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple relationships and deadlines
- Experience in sales, auctions, or the collector community is highly preferred
- Willingness to travel frequently and work some weekends
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and navigate various terrains at auction sites
- Comfortable working in outdoor and indoor environments for extended periods
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
