JOB PURPOSE: The Volumetric Mixer Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a mobile concrete mixing truck (volumetric mixer) to produce high-quality concrete according to job specifications. This role requires accurate batching, safe driving, equipment maintenance, and excellent customer service while on job sites.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Safely drive and operate a volumetric concrete mixer truck to job sites.
- Load and measure materials (cement, aggregates, water, admixtures) according to mix design requirements.
- Adjust mix consistency on-site as needed to meet customer specifications.
- Monitor and record material usage and production quantities.
- Follow proper start-up, mixing, and shutdown procedures.
- Deliver concrete on schedule to residential, commercial, and industrial job sites.
- Communicate clearly with customers and site personnel to ensure accurate pour location, timing, and specifications.
- Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor at all times.
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck and mixing equipment.
- Keep the truck and equipment clean and in good working condition.
- Report any mechanical or safety issues promptly to maintenance or management.
- Follow all DOT regulations, company safety policies, and PPE requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Valid CDL (Class B or higher) with air brakes endorsement.
- Clean driving record and ability to pass a DOT physical.
- Prior experience with volumetric mixers preferred, but training may be provided.
- Basic mechanical skills and troubleshooting ability.
- Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting up to 50 lbs and climbing on/off equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow mix design specifications.
