JOB OVERVIEW
Provides supervision, training, and oversight of daily staff activities on WA Cares program to ensure work is carried out effectively, efficiently and in alignment with organizational goals.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervises and monitors the work of direct service staff.
- Maintain thorough knowledge of Agency policies and procedures, ensuring consistent compliance by assigned team members.
- Maintain a working knowledge of the collective bargaining agreement and ensure Agency compliance in all staff-related matters.
- Provides consultation to WA Cares Fund staff on specific case issues.
- Approves leave requests, one-time flex schedules, and alternate schedule requests while assuring adequate staff coverage.
- Conduct staff evaluations, along with identifying training needs, in consultation with the Planning Director.
- Ensures programmatic compliance with WA Cares Fund contracts and Lead organization polices as well as WACs governing the program.
- Participates in Quality Assurance/Improvement duties.
- Interprets WACs, DSHS, and HCA Policies. Develops, maintains, and communicates knowledge of current applicable laws, rules, regulations, guidelines, policies and procedures governing State services.
- Responds to client grievances.
- Prepares and delivers verbal and written presentations and reports.
- May carry a WA Cares Fund caseload, or provide back-up to WA Cares Fund staff, as determined by the Planning Director.
- Works with other provider agencies to coordinate client services and resolve client issues.
- Assists with hiring and disciplinary action for assigned employees.
- Develops, maintains, and communicates knowledge of program’s computerized systems, monitoring related reports.
- Prepare and submit records required for billing.
- Assists with recruiting organizations and agencies that offer WA Cares Fund eligible services.
- Support Planning Director in developing and training of WA Cares Fund provider network, as requested.
- Educates community agencies, organizations, and the public on the goals and services provided by Lewis Mason Thurston Area Agency on Aging.
- Collects, analyzes, and reports comprehensive data, information, and statistics to develop effective goals, objectives, and strategies.
- Serves on committees, attends meetings and task forces as requested by the Planning Director.
- Assigns cases to appropriate staff.
- Acts as an advisor to Planning Director and participates in the planning and development of the Contracts and Planning Division.
- Assists Planning Director in planning and implementing new programs and services assigned to the WA Cares Fund team
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- Ability to use data for policy decisions, service delivery, and continuous quality improvement.
- Valid/current WA State Driver’s License with current automobile insurance.
- Successfully pass a background check according to DSHS/ALTSA and agency policies
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant field
- Two years of experience providing direct human services or two years of supervisory experience.
WORKING CONDITIONS
This position requires an ability to perform office functions in a hybrid work model, which includes working two days per work week in a designated Agency office and the remainder of the week in a designated home office. Work is performed indoors in an office environment, usually weekdays between the hours of 8:00 AM and 5:00 P.M. travel is required within Lewis, Mason and Thurston counties and occasionally to other parts of the state.
