JOB SUMMARY:
Warehouse Attendants report directly to the Warehouse Manager and are responsible for loading and unloading basketball courts, equipment, materials, and supplies. This role also provides comprehensive support to the Warehouse Manager, Inventory Control Coordinator, and Equipment Maintenance Technician. The position is local and based on-site at Praters Inc. in Rossville, GA.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Operate forklift trucks safely at moderate speeds and with full awareness of your surroundings. Make sure to be cautious of any obstacles or people in the vicinity.
- Operate hand trucks, forklifts, hoists, or other material handling equipment to load, unload, sort, and transport materials as directed.
- Assist with loading and unloading of portable courts and materials at Praters Portables facility.
- Load equipment and materials onto Prater’s vehicles as directed, unload equipment and materials, and return them to inventory locations when materials return.
- Assist with banding portable courts with stretch wrap banders upon request.
- Deliver equipment and materials between both Praters Portables and the Manufacturing facility.
- Complete all necessary documentation related to the position.
- Monitor jobs in Smartsheet to prepare materials going out.
- Submit pictures for both inbound and outbound loads.
- Organize, maintain, and keep the Peerless Mill warehouse area and surroundings (front and back) clean and free of debris.
- Regularly empty dumpsters into an open-top and communicate when the open-top is full.
- Assist the Equipment and or Facility Maintenance Technician as directed.
- Assist the Facility Maintenance Technician with auto-scrubbing the concrete floors after each portable floor is removed from a bay, as well as as needed throughout the Peerless Mill facility.
- Assist in implementing and maintaining the 5S program.
- Weekend work and overtime may be required.
- Will always conduct himself or herself as a representative of Praters, Inc. and support the company’s missions and goals.
- Follow all company policies, procedures, and business ethics codes.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
SKILLS NEEDED:
- High School Diploma/GED
- 1 – 2 years of experience operating a gas-powered forklift and pallet jack safely and efficiently.
- 1 – 2 years of prior warehouse and/or shipping/receiving experience.
- Ability to stand, bend, and perform physically demanding tasks for extended periods, including lifting and maneuvering objects weighing 50 pounds or more.
- Review and fully understand all Bills of Lading.
- Basic knowledge of different types of power tools/equipment.
- Able to effectively and efficiently organize and work both independently and as part of a team.
- Must be 21 years old or older
- Valid driver’s license and Clean MVR
- DOT Medical Card or the ability to obtain a Medical Card
