Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Warehouse/Driver to join our team. This role involves both warehouse duties and driving responsibilities, ensuring efficient delivery and handling of goods. The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, and the ability to operate various types of vehicles and equipment safely.
Duties
- Operate commercial vehicles for transportation of goods, including box trucks, flatbeds, and tractor-trailers.
- Load and unload freight efficiently while adhering to safety protocols.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries and shipments.
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance on vehicles to ensure safe operation.
- Assist in warehouse operations, including inventory management and organization of stock.
- Utilize forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment for moving materials within the warehouse.
- Communicate effectively with team members and management regarding delivery schedules and any issues that arise during transport.
- Follow established routes for deliveries while ensuring timely arrival at destinations.
Skills
- Proven experience in commercial driving with a valid driver's license.
- Familiarity with various types of vehicles including dump trucks, tankers, and paratransit vehicles.
- Knowledge of heavy equipment operation is a plus.
- Experience in warehouse operations is highly desirable.
- Strong mechanical knowledge for minor vehicle repairs and maintenance tasks.
- Ability to operate manual transmission vehicles as needed.
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate with team members and clients effectively.
- Experience in route driving or shuttle driving preferred.
