DEFINITION AND PURPOSE:

Perform professional work in conducting energy audits and quality control inspections and performing duties as the Crew Leader when necessary for the weatherization program. Identify the energy saving needs of homes. Inspect the work and identify and areas that do not meet standards and refer to the Weatherization Crew Chief and Co-Director. Complete a variety of assignments in the TAP’s Weatherization Program as determined by the Director. Must be able to relate to the general public and possess good communications skills.

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:

Supervised by: Director of ECHR

Supervises: N/A

Coordinates with: Homeowners, Suppliers and Sub-Contractors and ECHR Weatherization Staff

RESPONSIBILITIES:

§ Schedules appointments with applicants for weatherization audits and inspections and weatherization

§ Inspect heating and cooling equipment. Coordinate with contractor for services and needed repairs as directed by the Operations Manager

§ Use appropriate equipment and forms to inspect for major air leaks and bypasses, heating and cooking equipment safety and efficiency

§ Conduct duct diagnostics and recommendations for sealing

§ Inspect attic and sidewalls for insulation that meets VA WAP Standards

§ Make determinations for weatherization services needs and actions in accordance with VA WAP Standards

§ Document files of weatherization services required and completed

§ Conduct HEAT audits, ASHRAE calculations, manual J and D and documentation forms as required

§ Prepare estimation of total cost for various jobs

§ Provide documentation as required by funding sources to secure project funding

§ Meet audit/QCI quotas as assigned by Operations Manger

§ Participates in weekly/monthly production scheduling as directed by the Director of ECHR

§ Perform Quality Control Inspection of completed jobs for all areas identified on the audit, weatherization standards and the SWS

§ Provide consumer education, which includes the preparation of education materials for clients with regard to fuel efficiency and savings for home heating

§ Assist outreach workers with records and applications for assistance as well as provide information to outreach workers with regard to program changes

§ Must be able to work as a member of a team

§ Performs other duties as assigned by the Director

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

§ TAP participates in the Virginia DMV Driver Alert Program. Employees who operate a TAP vehicle or their personal vehicle to conduct TAP business may be subject to driver record monitoring through the Virginia DMV Driver Alert Program.
