Weaving Supervisor Job Description
Job Description Summary:
The Weaving/Loom Technician will be responsible for planning, organizing, and coordinating all daily activities for the weaving operation, but problem solving in other areas as they arise. This position will be working side by side with members of the beaming crews, as well as production supervisor to ensure timely completion of projects. As a weaving technician, you oversee the the day shift production at our Laurens, SC facility. The weaving technician will report directly to our production manager and engage in company-wide efforts to improve the efficiency of the facility.
Skills:
The position requires an understanding of textile manufacturing, sewing, and weaving machines, including maintenance, set up, style changes, warping, quality control and production levels management. You need to have an excellent working knowledge of the rhythms and requirements of industrial textile manufacturing and good basic mechanical skills for troubleshooting equipment problems. Familiarity with Dornier rapier style looms, including their electronics, mechanical components, and hydraulics is highly recommended. Strong verbal communication and leadership qualities are also necessary, along with strong interpersonal skills.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Ensure safe, efficient and productive weaving operations.
2. Meet with the production manager, on an as daily basis, to discuss a variety of subjects, but specifically on safety, quality, production, production scheduling and equipment requirements.
3. Focuses on driving safety, quality, and productivity.
4. Maintain assigned area in a clean, neat, orderly manner, so that the work area will reflect a safe and healthful work environment.
5. Monitor and maintain all the equipment, such as the loom and other textile machinery, regularly.
6. Develops and recommends improvements of facilities, equipment, or procedures to improve safety, quality, and efficiency.
7. Participate in inventory analysis of rolled goods when transferring to fabrication.
8. Develops, implements, and enforces operating methods and procedures designed to eliminate operating problems and improve product quality and revenue.
9. Responsible for the consistent adherence to plant rules and company policies.
10. Responsible for training, motivating, and disciplining subordinates.

While performing the duties of this position, the employee will be required to perform some physical exertion, as necessary. Also, will regularly be required to sit, stand, walk, kneel, and occasionally bend and move about the facility.
