Columbia County WIC is looking for a Breastfeeding Peer Counselor. This is a limited term employment averaging about 10 hours per week in the Health and Human Services Department. Hire rate: $15.79/hour. REQUIRES: individual to have personal and positive breastfeeding experience for 6 months or longer, have availability Sunday-Saturday 8am-8pm, valid driver’s license, experience in using basic office computer programs, and ability to communicate effectively via text, emails, phone calls and in person. PREFER: previous or current WIC participant and bilingual. Responsibilities include: providing basic breastfeeding information and support to WIC pregnant and breastfeeding women, documenting all contacts, and other duties and responsibilities assigned by the breastfeeding peer coordinator. Background check is required and will be completed by employer.
