Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse to join our family-focused Obstetrics unit. This role is dedicated to providing individualized labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum (LDRP) care for patients and their families. The ideal candidate will demonstrate clinical excellence, strong communication skills, and a commitment to patient advocacy while working in a collaborative healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer prescribed medications, perform clinical treatments, and carry out plan-of-care interventions.
- Accurately document patient care and maintain thorough medical records.
- Monitor, assess, and communicate patient conditions with the care team, physicians, patients, and families.
- Support patients with daily living activities including hygiene, nutrition, mobility, and elimination.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe and coordinated care, including patient transfers, discharges, and referrals.
- Provide patient and family education tailored to age, culture, and individual needs.
- Serve as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of patients.
Requirements
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Mexico or eligible compact licensure.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification at time of hire.
- Ability to think critically, make sound decisions under pressure, and work with minimal supervision.
- Strong adaptability in a fast-paced and high-stress environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification (required within 6 months of hire).
- Intermediate or Advanced Fetal Monitoring certification (required within 1 year of hire).
- STABLE certification preferred.
