State Compensation Insurance Fund's Legal Team has an opening for two experienced Lien Technicians (WCIT) in the Legal Lien Unit. Under the supervision of the Lien Representative Manager (Manager I), the Lien Technicians will independently perform the full range of Legal Technician duties; accurately assesses the potential value of medical liens, assists the Lien Representatives and attorneys by preparing cases for Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board (WCAB) hearings.

The position may be filled in any State Fund location, which includes the following: Bakersfield, Fresno, Oxnard,Pleasanton, Redding, Riverside, Glendale, Rohnert Park, Sacramento, Salinas, SanDiego, San Francisco, San Jose, San Luis Obispo, Santa Ana or Stockton.

  • Protect State Fund’s computer systems from malicious outside invasion.
  • Attend and participate in all required continued education and corporate compliance training.


New to state candidates will be hired into the minimum salary of the classification or minimum of the alternate salary range when applicable. Placement to alternate salary range may be based on education or experience identified in your state application.

Working Conditions

The successful candidate must reside in California upon appointment.

Selected candidate(s) hired may be required to attend in-person Onboarding at our Vacaville office with expenses for attendance paid by State Fund.
