What You’ll Be Doing
As aa X-Ray Technician we are seeking a licensed x-ray technician responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures, including X-rays, to assist physicians in diagnosing and treating patients quickly and accurately. The technician ensures the safety of patients and staff by following all radiation safety protocols while providing high-quality imaging services in a fast-paced environment.
The success candidate will be able to:
- Operate X-ray equipment to obtain high-quality images of patients’ bones, tissues, and organs.
- Perform a variety of X-ray procedures, such as chest X-rays, extremity imaging, and spine X-rays, as required by urgent care physicians.
- Ensure images are clear, accurate, and of sufficient quality for diagnostic purposes.
- Verify patient identity and explain procedures to ensure patient comfort and understanding.
- Position patients appropriately to obtain the best possible images while ensuring their safety and minimizing discomfort.
- Apply lead aprons and shields to protect patients from unnecessary radiation exposure, particularly for pregnant women and children.
- Accurately document procedures performed, patient information, and imaging results.
- Ensure that all images are properly labeled and stored in the patient’s medical record in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Work closely with physicians, nurses, and other medical staff to determine appropriate imaging needs and assist in the interpretation of results.
- Provide clear and effective communication to patients regarding their imaging procedure and follow-up steps.
- Be responsive to the urgent nature of the care environment, prioritizing cases as needed based on patient conditions.
- Perform all relevant medical tasks including collecting vital signs, phlebotomy, performing EKGs and other minor diagnostics/treatments, administering injections and routine immunizations, assisting Provider with minor procedures, quality control testing, and maintaining CLIA waiver log, etc.
- Prepare patient charts including DIs, referrals, preventative screeners, labs, and DMEs.
- Gather personal and clinical information from patient, readies paperwork and communicates information to care team as appropriate
- Participate in developing and updating of HPI, Social History, vitals, assessment and plans for patients
- Perform any and all other duties as assigned
What We’re Looking For
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Radiologic Technology preferred.
- Certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) is required.
- Previous experience as an X-ray Technician or Radiologic Technologist is preferred, especially in urgent care or emergency settings.
- Strong knowledge of radiographic procedures and techniques.
- Ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced, clinical environment.
- Excellent communication skills and a compassionate bedside manner.
- Ability to follow instructions precisely and work independently.
- Detail-oriented with good problem-solving skills.
- Understanding of radiation safety standards and protocols.
