Job Description
This position is responsible for operating trucks and moving trailers in and out of loading areas while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.
Hours for this position will be as follows: Monday-Thursday 7:00am to 5:30pm
Essential Functions:
- Move correct trailer from yard to door.
- Set reefer units at appropriate settings.
- Check to see if reefer units will start.
- Communicate with dispatcher and follow instructions.
- Report any fuel or oil leaks to maintenance.
- Will be responsible for the cleanliness of the shuttle truck.
- Will do pre-inspection for safety and mechanical defects on shuttle truck at beginning of shift.
- Will be asked to provide coverage at the guard shack when coverage is needed or during periods of less volume.
- Will be required to complete lot checks, perform yard sanitation, and all other duties assigned.
Special Skills Required:
- Must be willing to lift cases of product that can weigh up to 40 lbs.
- Must be willing to tolerate extreme cold and extreme heat (12 hours per day).
- Must be willing to bend at waist and knees on a repetitive basis (9-11 hours per day).
- Must be willing to twist and turn (9-11 hours per day).
- Must be willing to climb in and out of truck cab on a continual basis (9-11 hours per day).
- Must be willing to walk throughout the day (9-11 hours per day).
- Must have a valid Driver's License.
- Must have a clean safety record with no DWI/DUI in last 12 months.
