Position: Assistant Athletic League Support Staff
Type: 1099 Contract Position
Location: Compton, California
Coverage Area: 10 Middle Schools (Soccer, Basketball, Volleyball)
Job Summary: We are seeking a motivated and reliable Assistant Athletic League Support Staff member to support our athletic league activities across 10 middle schools in Compton. This position is crucial to ensuring the smooth operation of our soccer, basketball, and volleyball programs. As a 1099 contractor, you will have flexibility in your schedule to pick what dates and games you would like to support. There are 16 Saturdays with games starting at 9am to 1pm, you can schedule all of them if you would like
Key Responsibilities:
- Game Day Setup: Prepare facilities for games, including setting up equipment, arranging seating, and ensuring all necessary materials are in place.
- Scorekeeping: Accurately record scores and statistics for soccer, basketball, and volleyball games.
- Game Supervision: Monitor and supervise games to ensure they are conducted according to league rules and regulations.
- Team Coordination: Assist in coordinating with coaches, referees, and other league personnel to ensure smooth operation of games and events.
- Equipment Management: Manage and maintain athletic equipment, ensuring it is in good working condition and properly stored.
- Customer Service: Address any inquiries or issues from players, coaches, or spectators in a professional manner.
- Reporting: Provide timely reports on game outcomes, incidents, and any other relevant information to league organizers.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Prior experience in sports or event management, scorekeeping, or a related field preferred but not required.
- Skills: Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with diverse groups.
- Flexibility: Ability to work varied hours, including evenings and weekends, depending on game schedules.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and carry sports equipment, stand for extended periods, and perform other physically demanding tasks as needed.
- Transportation: Reliable transportation to travel between different middle school locations as required.
Compensation: This is a 1099 contract position. Compensation will be discussed during the interview process and is commensurate with experience.
