Job Summary
Safari Sports practice & Games are on the same day. We are preparing for our spring & summer Basketball League that begins 3/29 - summer. From 6pm - 8pm on weekdays and time varies on weekends
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Basketball Coach to lead and develop our basketball program. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in basketball, experience working with students, and the ability to foster a positive and motivating environment. This role involves coaching athletes of various skill levels, promoting teamwork, and enhancing individual player performance.
Duties
- Develop and implement effective training programs tailored to the needs of individual players and the team as a whole.
- Conduct regular practices focusing on skill development, strategy, and teamwork.
- Organize and lead competitive games, ensuring adherence to rules and sportsmanship.
- Monitor player progress and provide constructive feedback to enhance performance.
- Foster a positive team culture that encourages participation, respect, and personal growth.
- Collaborate with other coaches and staff to promote overall athletic development within the organization.
- Maintain communication with parents regarding player progress and team activities.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of basketball techniques, strategies, and rules.
- Experience working with students in a sports or educational setting is highly desirable.
- Ability to manage behavior effectively in a team environment.
- Excellent communication skills to engage effectively with players, parents, and other staff members.

Job Type: Contract
Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 2 – 4 per week

- We have 1 weekly meeting each week during our basketball leagues that last 10-20 minutes to discuss upcoming plans with our basketball team for upcoming basketball session. Are you ok with this ?

- What days are you available during the week days between 6pm - 8pm & what time frames are you available on Saturdays for basketball sessions?
- This not an hourly paid position. This is a contract/independent contractor position. We pay our basketball coaches based on each basketball session. This position pay per session is between $20 - $30 per session. Are you okay with this?
- Please provide us with two references including name & phone number that can speak on their relationship with you as a co-worker / employee.
- Practices are on Mondays for lewisville between 6:30pm - 8:30 pm at our Safari lewisville Location and safari denton location from 7pm - 8pm on Wednesdays. Does this work for you?
- Do you have any attendance or commitment issues that will prevent you from committing to Safari Sport Basketball Scheduled days if selected? If so, please list here as we would like to know if you have any attendance issues / unreliable to be present based on the schedule provided. Our basketball players and parents expect to have their selected coaches present unless it's an emergency that prevents them from being present.
