Job Summary:
Our Behavioral Rehabilitation Services (BRS) group home is seeking compassionate and dedicated Direct Care Staff to join our team. In this role, you will provide mentorship, emotional support, and personal care to female-identified adolescents (ages 12-18) in a structured, home-like residential setting.

You will play a key role in helping these young individuals develop life skills, build positive relationships, and navigate their daily routines in a supportive and nurturing environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Swing Shift:
  • Provide guidance and supervision to all youth in care.
  • Provide youth with daily medication(s).
  • Prepare meals and snack per the posted monthly menu(s)
  • Provide transportation to and from activities, counseling and other services.
  • Make telephone calls to confirm appointments and locate resources.
  • Maintain current information, and adhere tomthe WAC for group care and programs policies and procedures.
  • Maintain records and statistics as required by the agency, state, and other funding sources.
  • Perform administrative assignments as requested.
  • Relate to and work with youth that are emotionally upset, and at times hostile.
  • Make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
  • Fulfill all mandatory contract and program training requirements.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean household environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Overnight Direct Care / Youth Mentor Staff serve as positive role models for the youth in our program and play a vital role in ensuring their safety and well-being. Our night staff create a safe and nurturing environment by:

  • Conducting regular bed checks to monitor and ensure the safety and well-being of all participants
  • Preparing and serving a nutritious breakfast to start the day
  • Assisting the management team with administrative tasks, including shredding of outdated documents, data entry for programming and quality assurance, as well as ensuring that the facility is cleaned and disinfected
  • Updating shift notes in Extended Reach prior to your shift ending

Education and Work Experience:

Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying.

A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:
  • At least 21 years of age
  • High School Diploma or bachelor’s degree in relevant field
  • Basic computer skills using Microsoft Word, Excel, databases and Outlook
  • Effective communication and problem-solving skills.
  • 1 Year Experience in residential care or similar enviornment
  • Understanding of adolescent developmental issues, trauma, abuse and neglect, as well as substance abuse and dependence
  • Proficiency in strong administrative skills
Other Requirements:
  • Pass a DCYF criminal history background
  • Meet agency driving requirement
