Technical Trainer & Operations Support

Overview

Provide internal support to the regional Data Analysis Operations teams in a variety of ways to ensure the Data Analysts have the knowledge and assistance needed to perform their roles effectively and enable the regional teams to achieve on-time reporting while complying to regulatory standards

Responsibilities

Training development and facilitation (25%)

-Researches training methods, presentation of materials, best practices and industry regulations to provide an effective blended learning experience compliant with standard,

-Develops, revises and maintains training curriculum on pipeline inspection technologies to be provided either through classroom instruction, online webinar, video conference session or other mediums,

- Maintains awareness of software technology changes to ensure capability to keep training materials relevant and transfer software program knowledge to Analysts,

- Facilitate training sessions in a variety of settings, including classroom, video, one-on-one sessions and lunch ‘n’ learn sessions,

-Maintains training records to include tracking course completion, logging training hours, report exam certification scores,

- Manages individual training completions and tracks analyst progress to ensure timely achievement of advanced certifications;

Certification program management (15%)

- Creates all pipeline inspection technology certification exams,

- Administers exams to qualified (per time standards provided in regulatory standards) Data Analysts,

- Reviews each exams to provide a grade/score and follows up with the Data Analyst to review results,

- When necessary, provides retraining to allow Analyst to retake exam and ensure successful completion;

Internal auditing (20%)

- Conducts periodic audits of regional offices to determine conformance to procedures and ensures performance levels and quality standards are equivalent to certified level, in both analysis processes and reporting practices,

- Identifies individual development areas that require additional training and/or training process, software programming, etc., trends;

- Records results of audit in tracking system, reports feedback to Manager, and provides objective corrective action recommendations,

- Follows up

with assigned region and manages corrective action process to ensure deficiencies have been addressed.

Technical support and capacity overflow (30%)

- As a subject matter expert, regularly assists Data Analysts in addressing unique, complex analysis issues,

- Provides assistance to regional Data Analysis Operations teams when required personnel proficiency or capacity are not available locally,

- In collaboration with Technical Lead analyst around the globe performs software beta-testing prior to launch to ensure successful implementation within Data Analysis Operations team and assist software in developing new software procedures and processes,

- Creates process, certification standards, etc., on emerging technologies prior to full release to production;

Continuous improvement and metrics implementation (10%)

- Recommends revisions and improvements to analysis software, processes, etc., to ensure highest efficiency and quality output,

- Provides measurement tool development recommendations and assists in tracking metrics to show performance levels and output of Data Analysis Operations teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in business, engineering, instructional design, or other related field,
  • Minimum of 18 months of data analysis experience in the pipeline inspection industry, including achievement of Level II certification in at least one in-line inspection technology, or at least two years of experience developing training curriculum and facilitating content of a technical nature,
  • Familiarity with pipeline or well logging industry desired,
  • Prior exposure to web development or online webinar content development (i.e. Moodle) preferred,
  • Strong facilitation and classroom instruction skills,
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills,
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint skills,
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally, up to 30% of the time
