About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Technical Lead – Data Engineering to lead the design and development of large-scale data processing solutions within a fast-paced, agile environment. This role requires a strong technical leader who can drive data engineering initiatives, mentor development teams, and build scalable, high-performance data platforms that support complex business operations.

The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in data engineering, distributed data processing, database optimization, and software engineering best practices, combined with strong leadership and stakeholder management skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of large-scale data processing and integration solutions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional Agile teams to deliver high-quality data engineering solutions.
• Provide technical guidance on database design, query optimization, and performance tuning.
• Design and develop scalable and high-performance data infrastructure solutions.
• Build and maintain ETL pipelines to process large volumes of data efficiently.
• Ensure adherence to software engineering best practices and coding standards.
• Support Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) practices.
• Participate throughout the full software development lifecycle, including development, testing, deployment, and post-production support.
• Drive technical improvements and contribute to architecture decisions.
• Mentor team members and support their technical growth and development.
• Promote Agile delivery methodologies and DevOps practices across the team.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or an equivalent qualification.
• Minimum 5-6 years of experience developing enterprise applications, data integration solutions, and leading technical teams.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
• Hands-on experience working with large volumes of data and distributed processing frameworks, preferably Apache Spark.
• Strong experience designing and developing ETL solutions for large-scale data environments.
• Hands-on experience working with large relational databases, preferably MySQL.
• In-depth knowledge of database design and optimization methodologies, including OLAP, OLTP, and query performance analysis.
• Strong understanding of software engineering principles, UML, and design patterns.
• Experience with NoSQL databases and Big Data technologies such as Hadoop, Elasticsearch, CouchDB, or MongoDB will be an added advantage.
• Experience working in Scrum Agile environments.
• Exposure to DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or other IaaS/PaaS solutions will be an added advantage.
