About the role

Smart is looking for a Business Intelligence Analyst to help advance its reporting and data analytics capability. Working within the Smartshares Operations team, you will develop reports, dashboards, data models and analytical solutions that help the business understand its strategic choices, direction and performance. You will collaborate with business stakeholders, technology teams and project partners while improving data quality, reporting efficiency and access to meaningful insights.

Key Tasks, Duties, and Responsibilities

  • Produce and maintain business reports and dashboards using a range of tools and technologies.
  • Design data models, reporting solutions and analytical outputs.
  • Turn complex data into clear, meaningful insights for business users.
  • Provide regular and ad hoc data analysis to support business decisions.
  • Work closely with business stakeholders, IT teams and technology partners.
  • Support the development and maintenance of the organisation’s data catalogue.
  • Monitor data integrity to support accurate and consistent reporting.
  • Understand how data moves across the business and support new data requests.
  • Identify opportunities to improve and automate reporting processes.
  • Investigate and resolve reporting anomalies.
  • Collect and visualise information from a variety of data sources and datasets.
  • Document your work using the required standards, tools and version-control practices.
  • Contribute positively to the team and support wider business objectives
About you

We're looking for a technically strong and commercially minded Business Intelligence Analyst who can turn complex data into clear, actionable insights. You'll bring expertise in SQL, Power BI, Amazon Redshift, data modelling and reporting, alongside excellent problem-solving, stakeholder engagement and communication skills. With a focus on data quality, continuous improvement and automation, you'll help deliver reporting and analytics solutions that support better business decisions.

Minimum skills, experience and qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Tertiary qualification in Data Science, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, Mathematics or a related discipline.
  • 3+ years' professional experience in business intelligence or data analysis.
EXPERIENCE
  • Experience as a data analyst, or similar role
  • SQL programming
  • ETL/ELT experience
  • Experience using PowerBI or other BI tools to visualise data
  • Proven ability to provide effective analysis and reporting information
  • Experience using Python.
  • Experience consuming data from various sources such as SQL databases, flat files, APIs, and webhooks, ideally.
  • Experience working with JSON, Parquet, and CSV files, ideally.
  • Experience working with data security frameworks, and specifically PII data
