Database Administrator | $ 8000

Salary: $6,500 – $8,000 per month

Responsibilities

• Provide L2 support for MSSQL and MongoDB across Production and DR environments, including participation in 24/7 on-call rotations.
• Troubleshoot and resolve database outages, Always On failover issues, blocking/deadlocks, performance bottlenecks, and storage/IOPS constraints.
• Perform root cause analysis and implement preventive measures to enhance system stability.
• Manage MSSQL Always On Availability Groups, replication, patching, cumulative updates, and backup/restore strategies.
• Implement database security hardening, manage access controls and auditing, support VA remediation, and ensure compliance with government policies and audit requirements.
• Conduct DR drills, restoration validation, and optimize indexing strategies and execution plans.
• Manage MongoDB Replica Sets, automatic failover, cluster health and backup/recovery processes.
• Perform proactive health checks, analyze query execution plans and tune databases for optimal performance.
• Forecast capacity growth and ensure scalability to meet evolving business demands.
• Support change and release activities including script reviews, data migrations, deployment validation, and rollback planning.

Key Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in information systems, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 5–8+ years of DBA experience. Strong hands-on experience in: Microsoft SQL Server , MongoDB (Replica Sets, Backup/Restore)
• Experience supporting 24/7 critical systems and handling Severity 1 production incidents.
• Experience supporting application deployments (data patching, data seeding, etc.).
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Familiarity with: Virtualized or containerized environments, Microservices architecture Integration-heavy systems (Kafka, REST APIs, ETL)
• Experience working in structured ITIL-based incident management environments.
