Descripción del puesto

About the role

As Payment Operations Manager, you'll own operational activity across Visa, Mastercard and our wider payments ecosystem. You'll be the go-to expert for card scheme matters, whether that's implementing a new settlement currency, managing a BIN split or getting to the bottom of a tricky issue. It's a hands-on role that blends day-to-day problem solving with partner governance and operational change. If you enjoy complex challenges, global partnerships and being at the centre of the action, we'd love to hear from you.

What you will do

  • Own day-to-day operations, reporting and requirements for Visa and Mastercard, acting as the escalation point and subject matter expert
  • Ensure compliance with scheme rules, operational standards and mandatory change programmes
  • Support BIN setup, programme configuration and lifecycle management
  • Track scheme performance and operational risk, building KPIs that give leadership clear visibility
  • Lead operational readiness for programme launches, network integrations and migrations, coordinating Technology, Product, Compliance and external partners through to go-live and BAU handover
  • Manage escalations and incidents with card schemes and payment partners through to resolution
  • Support partner governance, including service reviews, SLA reporting and action tracking
  • Define and document payment processes aligned with scheme and regulatory standards, and oversee audits and assurance documentation
  • Contribute to scheme and regulator-driven projects
  • Coach and develop junior colleagues, building capability across the team

What you will bring

  • Strong knowledge of prepaid and debit products, including funding and transaction flows
  • Solid understanding of card network operations: BIN management, programme requirements, transaction routing and more
  • Proven vendor or relationship management experience, with the confidence to negotiate outcomes that serve the business
  • Operational project management skills with a focus on execution and continuous improvement
  • The ability to lead cross-functional delivery without direct authority
  • Clear, confident communication with partners, stakeholders and internal teams
  • A calm, practical, solutions-focused approach and the ability to juggle multiple priorities to tight deadlines
  • Experience working in a global payments environment across different regulatory contexts
  • Familiarity with acquirers, processors and non-card payment partners is a bonus

What we offer

  • 20 days' paid time off a year, plus 5 additional flex-time days once qualifying PTO has been used
  • Paid birthday leave and 2 paid volunteering days a year
  • Enhanced paid parental leave: 12 weeks for primary carers and 4 weeks for secondary carers
  • Medical and prescription cover through Meritain, with EML paying 90% of the premium, including $0 preventive care and telemedicine
  • Access to a Health Savings Account (HSA) through UMB
  • Dental and vision cover through Guardian, with EML paying around 75% of the premium
  • Employer-paid short-term disability (60% of salary) and long-term disability (60% of salary), with the long-term disability premium reimbursed by EML
  • Employer-paid basic life and AD&D insurance ($30,000), with voluntary cover available for you and your family
  • Support with one relevant professional membership a year
