The Atlanta University Center (AUC) Robert W. Woodruff Library is a seeking an organized and detail oriented Human Resources Assistant to perform routine administrative tasks and provide support to ensure the effective and efficient operation of the Human Resources Department.

What We Require for the Human Resources Assistant Role:

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, or six months to one-year related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Computer skills required: spreadsheet software (Excel), Word processing Software (Word) and Electronic mail (Outlook).
  • Experience using ADP Workforce Now or similar HRIS database
  • Minimum one (1) year customer service experience

Key

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain accurate personnel files, records and documentation in compliance with applicable legal requirements and HR record retention policy.
  • Answers frequently asked questions from applicants and employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring process, etc., refers more complex questions to the appropriate senior-level HR staff.
  • Perform periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately.
  • Keep employee records up-to-date by preparing the personnel change form and processing employee status changes in ADP.
  • Responsible for forwarding invoices in a timely manner to the Finance department for payment.
  • Assists with planning and execution of special events such as benefits enrollment, organization-wide meetings, employee recognition events, holiday parties, and retirement celebrations
